Nelson Flack. 1830-1908

"Nelson Flack, an aged gentleman who made his home with his son George B. Flack, near the Nittany Furnace, died Wed. evening of last week of bronchial trouble.

Mr. Flack had been confined to his bed for the past 10 months. He was aged about 78 years and has been a resident of Bellefonte for the past 48 years.

During the dark days of the Civil War he heeded his country's call and enlisted in Co. H, 148 Regt., P.V.I, and served for 2 years and 10 months.

Surviving him are 4 sons and 2 daughters as follows: John, George B, James, and Jerry, all of Bellefonte; Mrs. James McKinley of Milesburg and Mrs. Miriam Irvin of Sharon, Pa.

The funeral took place Sat. afternoon at 2 o'clock from the United Evangelical church. Interment in the Union cemetery."
