(2) The main source for naming all Joseph and Euphemias children is a notebook and a selection of correspondence between William Wirt Flack (b 1858) and James Flack (b1834) married to Barbara Y Selner. This is all in the possession of Carol Temlin, a family member of this tree.

(3) Extracts from letter by James Flack (b. Oct.-7-1834 d. Nov-23-1917) written in 1909/1910:-
(i) "Joseph Flack kept store and Samuel a Hotel in Doylestone about the time of the revolution. Here Samuel's child died and they could hardly find anyone to go with him to the Neshaniny Burial Ground to the family plot. Only 3 or 4 went including one woman and all on horseback. The neighbors were very much agitated, because Washington's army was camped in sight of the cemetery and the British this side of Philadelphia and people were expecting trouble any time, should the armies come together."
(ii) "Joseph Flack was a private in an Associated Company in Warwick Township, Pennsylvania in 1775 (the Revolutionary War) ."
(iii) "Joseph and Samuel Flack owned 49 acres of land in what is now the First Ward of Doylestown borough, lying south and east of Lenape Building on part of which I know reside."
