    • NOTES: When I look in the 1830 Census:-
      (1) I cant find Lawson in 1830 census
      (2) I DO find John Flack (and a John Flach) in Jo Daviess County, Illionis (top left of County)
      (3) I DO also find James Flack in Edgar County, Illinois - about 4 counties to the right of Macoupin and Madison county.
      (4) Also bearing in mind that Macoupin and Madison are on the Missouri border (near St Louis) so he might even have come from there as I find a James Flack in Cooper, Missouri (Cooper is about 6 countiies left of St Louis.)

      SOME INITIAL THOUGHTS
      ~
From (2) above - John Flack WAS also born in Rutherford County, North Carolina abt.1774 and DID live in Jackson and Perry County Illinois abt 1799 before moving to Jo Daviess County (at the top left of the State) in abt.1830. So its possible to believe that Lawson was a family member who just 'dropped off' in Macoupin County just after 1830 as the rest of the family travelled North. BUT, I then have to remember that John actually moved to Illinois in 1799, so Lawson cant be his son if the 1850/1860 census is correct about his birthplace being North Carolina (not Illinois).
It is however still possible that Lawson and John are still in the same family tree (a brothers son maybe), but Lawson followed to Illinois a little later. But then I have to remember that ALL I know is that Lawson was born in North Carolina, and there are the Guilford County Flacks to consider as well as Rutherford County Flacks.
So a lot more research is required here.
      ~
From (3) above - James Flack in Edgar County has been previously researched by me and was born abt.1799 in Kentucky, the son of William Flack and Susannah Callison (William was the son of James Flack and Ann Baxter - Bucks County, PA). So there seems little likelyhood of there being a link into that particular family as there are no known current links between the Bucks County, PA, Flacks and the North Carolina (Guilford and Rutherford County) Flacks.
      ~
From (4) above - James Flack in Cooper County, Missouri was (I believe) born In Kentucky and also (I believe) died in 1844 and the rest of the family seems to have moved to the bottom left of Missouri (Newton County).

      BIRTH: exact date from http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=tldavid1&id=I372
1840 census shows born between 30 and 40 years old (1800-1810)
1850 census shows age 29 (born about 1820)
1860 census shows age 50 (born about 1810)
I have no idea which is correct. but 1840 and 1860 census indicate born abt.1810

CENSUS: 1830 US Federal Census -

      (3) I DO also find James Flack in Edgar County, Illinois - about 4 counties to the right of Macoupin and Madison county.

HOWEVER - taking into account that Lawson was born in North Carolina - from a purely geographical guess - its more 'probable' that the connection is to the right of the State (towards NC) so James Flack in Edgar County, Illinois is probably the best link to look at.
BUT (having just looked) - James Flack in Edgar County is age 20-30 so much more likely to be a brother than a parent as Lawson would be similar age in 1830.
MORE THOUGHTS - John Flack and Sarah Milligan (Tree 656J) went from Rutherford County, NC to Jo Daviess County, Illinois - maybe Lawson is from THAT family and just 'dropped off' and stayed as the rest of the famly went up State.
BUT ITS ALL JUST THOUGHTS AND GUESSWORK AT THE MOMENT !!
